Seeing your eyes light up at our designs, we thought you had the right to see behind the scenes. The real thing. The one we don't make up. The one that precedes beauty, and makes it possible.
Here, then, is the Mediterranean making-of of a collection we wore very close to our hearts. A journey in reverse. A yoga of process. A collective work that you are now invited to discover.

Why create a capsule collection when we never follow the seasons? Why go behind the scenes, when we love silence as much as images? Perhaps because MEDITERRANEA is different. It all began in a vague conversation at the end of the day. Between two inspirations, two team laughs. The idea of a capsule came to us like a soft, obvious gesture: a tribute to the sea that cradles so many cultures, colors and silences. MEDITERRANEA was initially called something else. It has changed a hundred times in form, name and desire. But its essence has remained: a breath of the South, a promise of warmth, a bridge between heaven and earth.
- Before the carpet, the pencil: the art of the path
There were moodboards, notebooks, photos taken on the roads of Italy, Greece or Spain. Fabrics, earthenware, fruit, balconies. There were essays, erasures, inspired silences. There were also "coups de coeur" - like this arch motif, this window on the sea, this lemon ready to fall. Before the carpet, there was a hand tracing, a soul dreaming. This is MEDITERRANEA: a living drawing, a painting on carpet.

Then came the time for doubts. Too many details? Not enough breath? Is it true to what we feel? The magic of a design lies not just in the idea, but in its ability to stand up... once printed on material. We tested several supports, several formats, several thicknesses. We looked, touched, changed and tried again. It's a process that tires as much as it uplifts. But that's the price of accuracy.

When the first copy arrived in our workshop, there was silence. Then a smile. Then a "yes". Pre-orders were organized in the gentle urgency of June. Back and forth to the production workshop on the other side of the world. The shoot. The first stocks. The photos you'll see tomorrow are the fruit of a long gestation period. But what you're holding in your hands, what you're unwrapping in your home, is a whole story compressed into an object.

MEDITERRANEA wasn't decided in a marketing meeting. It was born of a thrill shared between us in the workshop, when the walls still smelled of linen, the sea and rough wood. It was at the end of a day, between two team laughs, a golden light on the table, a silence between two ideas. We didn't see it coming. We felt it.
Creating this capsule was like taking a deep breath after a long effort. It was offering ourselves a rare luxury: that of listening to our intuition, of welcoming slowness, of letting what cannot be measured speak for itself.

A STORY BORN BETWEEN 2 SHORES
It all began in a suspended moment.
The kind of moment that no agenda foresees, no strategy guides.
An in-between.
A soft light on the floor. An aimless phrase. A soothing silence. And in the midst of this vibrant nothingness: an obviousness. A desire shared without words.
Creating a capsule collection was like planting a seed in already warm soil.
Not to innovate, nor to seduce. But to pay homage.
To a sea that connects more than it separates.
To cultures where the body lives to the rhythm of the wind, the water and the sun.
To a window that opens onto the simple beauty of the Mediterranean Sea, of a small sailboat...
To women sitting on the steps of a white house, lemons in hand.
To images etched into the landscape without ever having been photographed.
MEDITERRANEA was born between two shores:
That of the South, palpable, sensual, generous.
And that of the intimate, the diffuse memory, the need for simple beauty.
It has changed face a thousand times: different names, sketched shapes, abandoned tracks, returns, impulses, detours.
But its heart has never moved: a promise of light.

Before we could roll it out, we had to imagine it.
The MEDITERRANEA yoga mat by Yogaterrae was not conceived in front of a screen. It took shape in the margins of our notebooks, on crumpled pages, on the backs of ferry tickets, in studio silences where only our pencils echoed on the paper.
There were moodboards made of ancient earthenware, blue pigments stolen from the sea, photos of burning staircases, juicy fruit, sheets hanging in the wind. There were the shadows of pine trees, the curved lines of arches, the ochre facades of villages frozen in the sun.
And then there was intuition: the intuition of a motif capable of breathing.

On the first prototypes of Yogaterrae's MEDITERRANEA yoga mat, some details disappeared. Others stood out too much. Line faded at the fold. Blue turned to grey. We had to be persistent - without denying our initial intuition.
Choosing the right PU grain. The right thickness. Adjusting saturation so that the pattern remained true in natural light. Accept that certain textures would never do the design justice... and pivot.
This doubt is the hallmark of houses that create with integrity. Never produce for the sake of producing. Never take the easy way out. To stand firm. Dare to say no to what isn't right.
