Here is the Mediterranean making-of of a collection that we held very close to our hearts. A journey in reverse. A yoga of process. A collective work that you are now invited to discover.

The idea of a capsule appeared as a gentle evidence: a tribute to this sea that cradles so many cultures, colors, silences. MEDITERRANEA was initially called something else. It has changed forms, names, desires a hundred times. But its essence has remained: a breath of the South , a promise of warmth, a bridge between heaven and earth.
• Before the carpet, the pencil: the art of the path
There were mood boards, notebooks, photos taken on the roads of Italy, Greece, or Spain. Fabrics, earthenware, fruit, balconies. There were tests, erasures, inspired silences. There were also favorites—like this arch motif, this window onto the sea, this lemon ready to fall. Before the carpet, there was a hand that traces, a soul that dreams . That is what MEDITERRANEA is: a living drawing, a painting on a carpet.
• Create, doubt, dare: behind the scenes
Then came the time for doubts. Too many details? Not enough breath? Is it faithful to what we feel? The magic of a drawing lies not only in the idea, but in its ability to stand up... once printed on material. We tested several supports, several formats, several thicknesses. We looked, touched, changed, started again. It's a process that tires as much as it elevates. But that's the price of accuracy.

When the first copy arrived in our workshop, there was silence. Then a smile. Then a “yes.” Pre-orders were organized in the gentle urgency of June. The back-and-forth with the production workshop on the other side of the world. The shooting. The first stocks. The photos you will see tomorrow are the fruits of a long gestation. But what you hold in your hands, what you unfold at home, is a whole story compressed into an object .

A STORY BORN BETWEEN TWO SHORES
It all began in a suspended moment.
This kind of moment that no agenda foresees, that no strategy guides.
An in-between.
A soft light on the ground. A sentence spoken without a specific purpose. A silence that feels good. And in the midst of this vibrant nothingness: an obviousness. A desire shared without words.
Creating a capsule collection was like planting a seed in already warm soil.
Not to innovate, nor to seduce. But to pay homage .

Before it could be unrolled, it had to be imagined.
Yogaterrae's MEDITERRANEA yoga mat was n't conceived in front of a screen. It took shape in the margins of our notebooks, on crumpled pages, on the backs of ferry tickets, in the silence of the studio where only our pencils echoed on paper.
There were mood boards made of old earthenware, blue pigments stolen from the sea, photos of burning staircases, juicy fruits, sheets hanging in the wind. There were the shadows of pine trees, the curved lines of arches , the ochre facades of villages frozen in the sun.
And then there was the intuition : that of a pattern capable of breathing.
To open the inner space with each posture.
To evoke a door, a threshold, a passage towards oneself.

On the first prototypes of Yogaterrae's MEDITERRANEA yoga mat , some details were missing. Others stood out too much. The lines were disappearing at the fold. The blue was turning gray. We had to persist—without denying our initial intuition.
Choosing the right PU grain. The ideal thickness. Adjusting the saturation so the pattern remains faithful in natural light. Accepting that some textures would never do the design justice... and pivoting.
This doubt is the hallmark of houses that create with integrity. Never produce for the sake of producing. Never give in to the easy way out. Hold on. Dare to say no to what isn't right.

Since childhood, this intrepid traveler has traveled the globe, leaving her footprints on beaches around the world.Passionate about surfing, scuba diving and sailing, she has made the oceans her playground and source of inspiration.
The freedom of the waves, the serenity of the ocean depths and the wind in his sails have punctuated his journey, always guided by a quest for connection with nature.
It was through her explorations that yoga became more than a practice for her – it was a way of life.
Between early morning surf sessions and meditative sunsets, she found in yoga a perfect balance of strength, flow and self-awareness.
