This style has appealed to those looking for a way to tone their bodies, improve flexibility and increase cardiovascular endurance, while integrating some of the principles of yogic philosophy.

Power Yoga is also influenced by the evolution of the wellness and fitness culture of the 1980s and 1990s, with its emphasis on muscle strengthening, fitness and personal development.
